Imagine this...

You are pregnant, you know you want to attempt to breastfeed but you're not quite sure how you'll do this, you just hope that it goes ok! Deep down you probably know you will need to know more but not sure where to start when it comes to actually learning about breastfeeding. You have heard many negative stories about 'sore nipples' and you've been told things like 'I couldn't make enough milk so had to give up', which makes you think you might not make enough milk either.

Well...let me stop you there because I have supported many mothers who have been in your position and have gone onto successfully breastfeed their baby with confidence. I have every faith in you that you can and will be able to breastfeed your baby, if that is what YOU want.

"Alannah went through in depth the benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and baby, what a realistic day of feeding looks like and how to establish a good supply of milk. I left feeling empowered and ready to start this new journey with my baby." - Daniella.

I truly believe that with the right support and knowledge you will feel more confident in your abilities as a mother and trust in your body and your baby. Knowledge is power, as cheesy as it might sound, it's true. Having the right information before you have your baby is going to be so much more beneficial than trying to learn the basics with a very hungry newborn in your arms at 2am.

My Breastfeeding Preparation Sessions are aimed at mothers/parents before you have your baby so that you are able to gain as much knowledge around breastfeeding, expressing, colostrum harvesting, newborn feeding behaviours and how to overcome potential challenges that might come up postnatally.

You will then feel less overwhelmed with all the advice out there and feel far more confident and excited about the prospect of breastfeeding.

"It was lovely to speak to someone who genuinely really cares and wants the best for you and your baby. I definitely recommend booking in with her during pregnancy." - Daniella

The two hour antenatal masterclass will cover:

- How breastfeeding works & the hormones

- The benefits for both you and your baby

- Colostrum Harvesting

- Hand Expressing & Pumping

- Getting a good latch and position

- Troubleshooting and challenges that may arise

- Newborn hunger cues

- How your partner can support you

It will give you the chance to ask me any questions - no questions are silly or off limits and we can tailor the session to your feeding goals.

You and your partner will leave the session feeling much more informed, confident and excited about the choices you make and how you want to feed your baby.

The class is on a 1-1 basis either in person, at my space in Hayle or the comfort of your own home, or online via zoom.

If you would like to book a Calma Mama Breastfeeding Preparation Class with me you can get in touch via email.
